ข้าพเจ้าขอน้อมบูชา รอยพระพุทธบาทขององค์พระบรมศาสดาสัมมาสัมพุทธเจ้า ซึ่งประดิษฐานอยู่ ณ หาดทรายริมฝั่งแม่น้ำนัมมทานที ด้วยประทีปนี้ ขอให้การบูชารอยพระพุทธบาทนี้ จงเป็นไปเพื่อประโยชน์เกื้อกูลแก่ข้าพเจ้า และเพื่อความสงบสุข ความร่มเย็นแก่โลก และมวลมนุษยชาติ ตลอดกาลนานเทอญ
ในโอกาสวันลอยกระทง ได้เวียนมาถึงอีกครั้งในปี ๒๕๕๔ นี้ ขอฝากข้อคิดเพื่อสะกิดไม่ให้หลงทางว่า ถ้าจะบูชาพระเจ้าขอให้เชื่อว่าพระเจ้าทุกพระองค์ดำเนินไปในทางที่ดี และมีพระประสงค์ให้ศาสนิกเจริญรอยตาม และมุ่งละชั่วทำแต่ความดี
ถ้าจะถวายการบูชาพระพุทธเจ้า พระองค์ก็ทรงย้ำว่า การปฏิบัติตามหลักคำสอนเป็นการบูชาที่ประเสริฐที่สุดกว่าการบูชาใดๆ ทั้งสิ้น
ถ้าจะบูชาพระแม่คงคาเป็นการตอบแทนบุญคุณของน้ำ พระแม่คงคาหรือน้ำเป็นสิ่งที่มีคุณสมบัติพิเศษในตัวคือ เย็น ประสานกันได้สนิท สามารถชำระล้างสิ่งสกปรกได้ทุกอย่าง ดับกระหาย และให้ความอุดมสมบูรณ์ ว่ากันว่าน้ำทุกหยดซึ่งถือเป็นสายเลือดของพระแม่คงคา
ดังนั้น สิ่งที่มนุษย์ทุกคนต้องปฏิบัติต่อพระองค์เป็นการตอบแทนพระคุณก็คือ
๑. ช่วยกันดูแลแหล่งกำเนิด ที่เก็บที่กักน้ำทุกแห่ง ให้สะอาดตามหลักสุขอนามัย
๒. ไม่ปล่อยหรือทิ้งสิ่งปฏิกูลของสกปรกต่างๆ ลงไปในลำน้ำต่างๆ ให้เน่าเสีย
๓. ใช้น้ำอย่างประหยัดไม่ฟุ่มเฟือย ทั้งน้ำใช้และน้ำดื่ม
๔. สำนึกในคุณค่าของน้ำซึ่งมีความสำคัญยิ่งต่อชีวิตมนุษย์ สัตว์ และสภาพแวดล้อมทั่วไป
๕. ถือคุณสมบัติของน้ำเป็นแนวทางพัฒนาจิตใจให้สงบเย็น รักสามัคคี ชำระกาย วาจา ใจให้สะอาดเสมอ โดยละชั่ว ประพฤติชอบ ประกอบจิตให้ผ่องแผ้ว
๖. ร่วมสร้างชีวิต สังคม สภาพแวดล้อมทั้งโลก ให้สุขสมร่มเย็นด้วยมือของทุกคนตลอดไป

11/07/2011 UK Mission for The Buddha Metta Centre ~ Luangpoh Sudhiro and I have been traveling continuously in the United Kingdom for a few weeks now to share the compassionate teachings of the Buddha with groups of lay people who do not have easy access to such teachings of the Dhamma. We have been practicing deep listening to try to learn what the needs and wishes of these people are in regards to having such teachings available to them. We have been honoured to have had the Venerable Tan Jao Khun Thong Chai from the Rama 9 temple in Bangkok with us for the first week.
Luangpoh has a vision of starting a Buddha Metta Centre in the UK and our travels are not only proving to us that such a place would be of great benefit to the greater community but that the community is also willing to support such a project. Much of this support is already a reality.
A most wonderful location has become available for such a place in the south west of Scotland close to Castle Douglas and Dumfries. Manchester, Leeds, Newcastle, Carlisle, Glasgow, Edinburgh, and the ferry from Northern Ireland are all within a few hours drive, but yet it is set in beautiful and serene country minutes from the sea. It is the perfect location to get away from city and come for a weekend retreat to learn and practice Dhamma from a monastic community of forest monks or past disciples. The most wonderful and Venerable Tan Jao Khun Thong Chai voiced his approval of the location and the project in general which brings backing from a prominent Bangkok temple.
The link in question was the strength and needs of the community which is clearly becoming a mute concern. In fact it is clear that setting up a Buddha Metta Society in a few locations will be of great benefit to the communities involved and will help the Centre in Scotland thrive. Some of these communities have set the wheel in motion already on their own initiative such as in Bournemouth, Cambridge, and Carlisle.
On a personal note, this experience is proving to be very amazing to me. It is very closely resembling being on tudong in Thailand which is the practice of wondering from location to location with only the simple essentials to share and learn in the Dhamma. We rarely know where we will end up from day to day and often from moment to moment, and we are surviving purely by the generosity of the people we come into contact with. They have been sharing with us what we need to survive while we have been sharing Metta, blessings, teachings, meditation instruction, and beautiful periods of chanting together. The experience of meeting these amazing people is enough to fall asleep each and every night very peacefully with a smile. They tell us that they feel the same.

"Snake-Kamma-Vipaka"
Here are some reminiscences from Bhikkhu Gavesako:-
Three days before we arrived at Wat Pah Kanjanabhisek in Phu Wiang, Khon Kaen, something strange happened: On that day Luangpoh Sudhiro had been talking with the monks about his past as a soldier, in particular about killing snakes in the forest and eating them with his friends at that time. He said that strangely, he has never received any kammic result (vipaka) from those unwholesome actions until now, even though he has lived in caves with many snakes but they never harmed him.
That night, however, he walked from his kuti through the forest without a flashlight, as he normally does, and he stepped on a snake which bit him twice in the foot. He realized it was a cobra snake and so he compressed the lower part of his leg and pushed out the poisoned blood which had dark colour. He considered what to do next: Should he call the hospital for help? He actually thought about the possibility of some Western visitor being bitten by a snake before our group arrived, and he asked at the hospital whether they had the proper serum available there, but they said that it would have to be brought from a bigger hospital or it might be out of date. Also, his own brother had been recently bitten by a cobra and had to spend 6 weeks in hospital after that. So he decided to help himself first and then call a local man who was a "snake doctor" knowledgeable about different herbs which can cure snake bites. The man gave him some root which has to be mixed with lemon juice and applied to the wound to extract the poison. The remedy seems to have worked because when we arrived, Luangpoh Sudhiro was already going on the morning almsround even though his big toe was still a bit swollen.
The funny thing was that when he told his monk disciple on the first morning that he was limping because a cobra bit him, the monk just laughed and did not take him seriously, because he did not compain of any symptoms.
When somebody asked him if the snake had committed bad kamma by biting him, he replied that he actually felt grateful to the snake because the old kamma debt has now been settled. It felt like some Mara force was trying to prevent him from leading our group on the pilgrimage to forest monasteries, which would have been almost impossible without his experience, but it was not able to do this.

ในที่สุด การแสวงบุญติดตามรอยครูบาอาจารย์สายพระกรรมฐานต้นแบบนับจากหลวงปู่เสาร์ หลวงปู่มั่น หลวงพ่อชา หลวงตามหาบัว(หนึ่งอาทิตย์ก่อนท่านมรณภาพ )ในแดนอีสาน
เริ่มจาก ขอนแก่น หนองบัวลำภู เลย อุบล อุดร และมุกดาหาร ก็สิ้นสุดลง
แต่การเดินทาง ทางจิตวิญญานไม่มีที่สิ้นสุด นับเป็นจุดเริ่มต้นที่จะก้าวตามรอยครูบาอาจารย์ในแต่ละย่างก้าวต่อไป
เพื่อให้วันเวลาที่เหลืออยู่ช่วง 20 กว่าปีสุดท้ายของชีวิตเป็นวันเวลาที่ใช้ชีวิตอย่างผู้รู้เห็นความจริงตามความเป็นจริง
จึงขอแบ่งปันความสุขสงบจากการติดตามค้นหาความจริงในชีวิตมายังเพื่อนๆด้วยภาพถ่ายที่พระอาจารย์ Gavesako เมตตาส่งมา

โครงการ Buddha Metta Village ที่จังหวัด เลย จะ เปิดโลกกว้างให้ชาวต่างชาติได้มาปฏิบัติธรรมในดินแดนพุทธที่มีเจ้าบ้านเป็นชาวอีสาน ต้นแบบชาวพุทธที่เข้าถึงธรรม

On 21/11/2010 during the Civara Dana ceremony held for Sammapatipadarama Monastery, Napier, NZ, Somdejphrawannarat, a member of the Supreme Sangha Council of Thailand, and representative of Sangha Raja, bestowed the title of Phrakhruvinayadhara (means the Acariya who maintains good Vinaya) on Luang Poh Sudhiro. This title is in recognition of monks who conduct themselves in a truly exceptional manner.The title was established by royal decree. It is therefore highly prestigious and comes in recognition of Luang Poh's outstanding work for the Dhamma in Thailand and abroad.
It gives me great pleasure to share this news with you all.
